About

A Practical, Seasoned Perspective Built Over More Than 25 Years

I bring together technical marketing, software and web development, and real business ownership to help businesses improve websites, marketing performance, and the systems that support them.

SEO · Google Ads · Websites · Marketing Systems · Software · Automation

Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana with more than 25 years of experience — working with local businesses face to face and with clients across the country remotely.

Background

30 Years. Real Work. No Shortcuts.

I started working on the web before Google existed. I was gaming search engines the right way when Excite.com was the dominant force and meta tags were being abused by people trying to game the system the wrong way. The fundamentals I learned then — that text is king, that structure matters, that the right content in the right place outperforms tricks every time — have not changed. The tools have. The principles have not.

Over 30 years I have worked as a consultant, developer, marketing leader, and business owner. That combination is not common. Most marketing professionals do not build software. Most developers do not run PPC campaigns or understand SEO at a technical level. I do both — and the overlap is where most of the value lives.

Approach

I Look for What Others Miss. That Is Usually Where the Problem Is.

After enough time doing this work, evaluating a website becomes involuntary. I cannot look at one — even for personal reasons — without the observations starting automatically. An extra click in the navigation that should not be there. A call to action buried below the fold. A page that answers every question except the one that would make someone pick up the phone. A GA4 install that looks complete but is missing the conversion events that actually matter.

The biggest gains are rarely the loudest ones. They are the practical changes that most people walk past — the friction points, the missed signals, the parts of the system that are quietly underperforming while everyone is focused on something else. Finding those is what I do.

Honest About AI

I Use AI. I Am Not Ashamed of That. And I Know What It Cannot Do.

AI is a genuine tool and I use it — for research, for writing, for accelerating work that used to take significantly longer. I have had conversations with AI tools that remind me of conversations I used to have with talented employees early in their careers. Real back-and-forth. Ideas being tested, pushed back on, refined.

But AI amplifies what you bring to it. In the hands of someone who genuinely knows their field, it is leverage. In the hands of someone who does not, it produces confident, well-formatted work that is wrong in ways the person presenting it cannot detect. I have seen that firsthand — an AI audit that correctly identified strong SEO pages and then recommended merging them, which would have dismantled the entire strategy. The tool was not the problem. The absence of expertise to filter its output was.

Experience

The Work Has Covered a Lot of Ground.

I have managed a $2 million annual PPC budget for a global relocation company. I have built patented GPS and radio-based emergency vehicle preemption systems deployed across Indiana and multiple other states. I have built custom CRM platforms, IDX real estate systems, internal enterprise applications, and marketing automation tools. I have run SEO and paid search for national brands and helped Fort Wayne businesses get their first real lead from digital marketing.

That breadth matters because the patterns that solve problems in one industry often apply cleanly to another. And because having seen what works at scale makes it significantly easier to identify what is worth doing at any size.

Trust

Some Work Requires More Than Technical Skill.

Some of my work has required background checks and involvement with systems tied to sensitive, real-time operational data — including systems aware of the live location of emergency vehicles. That kind of trust is earned, not assumed. It shapes how I think about client relationships, data handling, and the responsibility that comes with touching systems that actually matter to a business.

I also bring a business owner’s perspective to every engagement — not just a consultant’s. That changes how I think about cost, ROI, priorities, and what actually helps a business move forward versus what sounds good in a proposal.

Fort Wayne

Local Enough to Meet. Experienced Enough to Work Anywhere.

I am based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. For local businesses that means easier communication, more accountability, and someone who understands the market because they live in it. For clients across the country it means remote collaboration that works — the work gets done the same way regardless of geography.

Fort Wayne is a real market with real businesses and real search demand. It is also a market where the right strategy — built correctly, maintained consistently, and measured honestly — can produce results that larger markets make harder to achieve. I know this market and I work in it every day.

What Others Have Said.

My LinkedIn recommendations span different stages of my career and reflect the kind of trust, judgment, and results that matter in real client relationships — not just technical execution, but the thinking behind it and the communication that makes it useful.

30 Years of Thinking. Written Down.

The Insights section is where I put the thinking that does not fit in a service description. Analogies I have been using with clients for decades. Positions I have held since before Google existed and have not changed. Honest takes on AI, WordPress, analytics, PPC, and what actually moves the needle versus what sounds like it should.
